Funky (kinda) viral campaign by Queensland Tourism (Australia that is): They advertised “The best job in the world” across various job sections, put up a respective video on the ‘tube, and an well… okay landing page. You want to housekeep an island on the Great Barrier Reef? 6-month “holiday”, cleaning the pool, and feeding the feesh? And get paid for it, of course? Who would’nt…

Some may think that this might be a bit morbid in times of financial crisis and unemployment. But at least they have quite some eyeballs on their “employment” ads these days…  but finally someone HAS to feed the fish! It’s not their fault!

This is so cool! I mean like really really cool. Canadian director Partick Boivin (check out his other stuff, too) misuses the annotations feature within Youtube to create an interactive video-version of Street Fighter!!!

You chose your fight moves by clicking on different options (A, B, X, Y) in the video screen, with each new sequence being a new video in a new window. Nuff said, check it out:

See, that’s a simple yet creative approach for the use of “new” media. Me likes a lot! And I bet that there will be some agency jumping on that idea for some sort of advertising campaign very soon

For all those I did not see / read / talked to in 2009: Happy new year!
